The Peruvian Taekwondo Sports Federation (FDPTKD) has announced the INCA Training Camp 2026, an international high-performance camp focused on Olympic Taekwondo sparring. The event will take place from January 27 to 30, 2026, at the National Sports Village (VIDENA) in the Peruvian capital, and marks the first major initiative of its kind in the country for the new year.

This camp aims to bring together athletes and coaches from the Pan American region for an intensive Olympic-level Kyorugui experience. Designed as a comprehensive immersion program, it combines technical evaluations, physical conditioning, tactical development, and competition simulations. Its main objective is to promote regional sports exchange and prepare athletes for the 2026–2027 competitive cycle, with an eye toward the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima.

The event will be led by world-renowned figures in Olympic Taekwondo. Among the featured speakers is Juan Miguel Moreno, a two-time Olympic medalist and former elite athlete who has served as Olympic Head Coach and Director of High Performance. Moreno is recognized for his role in training Olympic, World, and Pan American medalists in various international competitions.

He will be joined by Arlen Gonzáles, an Olympic coach, world and Pan American medalist, and current head coach of Peru’s National Kyorugui Team. Gonzáles has international experience and specialized training in Cuba, one of the historic strongholds of Taekwondo in the Americas.

The camp is designed for athletes from 1st Kup, Poom, and Dan levels in the Pre-Cadet, Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories, as well as Kyorugui coaches. The training program includes technical evaluations, specialized conditioning, tactical drills, supervised sparring using Daedo and KPNP electronic scoring systems, and competition scenarios under pressure.

To conclude the process, the National Ranking 1 Championship will be held on January 31 and February 1, 2026. This official event will allow participants to compete immediately following the training camp and will be open to foreign athletes.

The INCA Training Camp 2026 serves as a gathering place for regional competitive Taekwondo, fostering exchange among athletes from different countries, weight classes, and skill levels. This enriches training and strengthens the event’s continental presence on the sport’s official calendar.

In addition, several international and local figures will be in attendance to lead a wide range of workshops:

  • Richard Díaz Cordero – First Aid
  • Jean Carlos Sulca – Sports Nutrition
  • Fernando Akilian – Discipline and Professional Development in Teaching Taekwondo to Children
  • Bruno Saux – Taekwondo: Martial Art and Sport
  • Younggi Jeon Lee – Training in basic taekwondo techniques for kup and dan levels
  • Jorge David Moreno Peña – Sports Psychology
  • José Huamanlazo Quispe – Introduction to Sports
