The Trashkwondo podcast, one of the most irreverent and popular shows in the world of taekwondo, kicked off its seventh season last Thursday, February 19, promising a “long but interesting” 2026 for the TKD community.
The premiere episode (Season 7, Episode 1) is now available on major audio platforms, and the regular hosts (Chava and Boris) are back with their signature style: uncensored analysis, anecdotes, critiques of the taekwondo establishment, and, of course, plenty of biting humor.
“2026 will be a long but interesting year—spend it with us…,” reads the message accompanying the launch, posted on both X and the project’s other social media platforms.
The premiere was released simultaneously in several formats:
- Full audio on Transistor.fm
- Live content/video via the official @trashkwondo account
- An additional preview or segment on YouTube
- In addition, for the first time, a simultaneous vertical format on Instagram and TikTok.
The podcast, which bills itself as “the world’s most-listened-to podcast on #taekwondo,” remains true to its roots: a critical take on World Taekwondo (#WT), real-life stories from competitors and former national team members, no-holds-barred debates, and a distinctly Mexican flair that sets it apart from other, more institutional formats.
The community has already begun reacting on social media, where the hashtag #Trashkwondo and mentions of the team have been generating engagement since Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21. In addition, the project continues to maintain its support channels: YouTube memberships for exclusive content and the official store.
With several years of episodes under its belt and a loyal listener base that enjoys both serious topics and its more “trashy” moments, Trashkwondo has once again established itself as an alternative benchmark within the global taekwondo community.
Ready for another season of high kicks, low opinions, and plenty of debate? The Dojang Sonoro is now open.
