The Professional Taekwondo Federation (PTF), in partnership with PTF Korea, will make history by hosting the 1st PTF World Taekwondo Championships, to be held from July 10 to 12, 2026, in Korea, the birthplace of this martial art.
For the first time in history, athletes from all styles of Taekwondo (World Taekwondo – WT, International Taekwondo Federation – ITF, and Kombat Taekwondo – KT) will compete in the same global event. The championship will be fully inclusive: open to all ages, all belt levels, and the three major styles, with specific divisions for each. The winners of each category will be officially recognized as World Champions in their respective age group and belt level.
Rick W. Shin, president of the PTF and Kombat Taekwondo, extended a personal invitation to all national presidents, coaches, and competitors around the world:
“This will be a historic event celebrating unity, inclusion, and excellence for our global Taekwondo family. I look forward to welcoming you to Korea so we can write a new chapter together.”
All champions of the KT Major League will receive a direct invitation to compete in the KT Grand Prix Professional Championships, the top professional division of Kombat Taekwondo.
