The Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) is preparing a special gala to honor the most outstanding taekwondo athletes in the Americas in 2025. The awards ceremony will take place during the prestigious U.S. Open G2 tournament, scheduled for March 5-8, 2026, in this iconic American city.
This initiative, which has become a well-established tradition within the organization, seeks to highlight the talent, dedication, and contributions of athletes, coaches, judges, and federations that promote the growth of taekwondo on the continent. Initiated under the leadership of Juan Manuel López Delgado, the awards ceremony highlights not only sporting achievements, such as medals at the Olympic Games, World Championships, or Pan American Games, but also the institutional commitment and values that unite the Pan American community.

Among the awards to be presented are:
- Best athlete in kyorugi (women's and men's categories).
- Best athlete in poomsae (women's and men's).
- Best athlete in para-taekwondo.
- Best coach in the disciplines of kyorugi, poomsae, and para-taekwondo.
- Best referee (women's and men's).
- Federation of the Year.
- Special recognition for sporting excellence.
The event will not only celebrate individual and collective successes, but will also reinforce the sense of belonging and international projection of American taekwondo. In the words of Juan Manuel López Delgado, promoter of this tradition:
“These awards represent much more than trophies; they are a testament to a community that strives for excellence every day. In Las Vegas, we will honor those who, with discipline and passion, have made this a memorable year for our continent.”
Integrated into the U.S. Open G2, one of the most renowned competitions on the world calendar, the gala promises to be a moment of inspiration and unity for everyone involved in this martial art, promoting principles such as fairness, comprehensive development, and recognition of those who work in different roles to raise the level of taekwondo in the Americas.
